As an enthusiastic athlete, sports photographer, and lifelong connoisseur of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, I was drawn to pickleball instantly. What could be better than a healthy outdoor activity that brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and lifestyles to compete, socialize, and laugh? This New Jersey transplant, whose favorite scores include 2-1-2 and 2-0-1, has lived, worked, and played on the westside for 30 years. My husband and I raised our gherkins and now that the jar is empty, I’m eager to help spread pickleball fever and grow our community.
