SMPC is an inclusive, diverse, community of pickleball players dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of pickleball in Santa Monica. Our goal is to help all level of players enjoy the game and improve skills while gaining the health benefits and friendships of our open, welcoming community.

Currently, we play at Memorial Park in Santa Monica as they are the only public courts where pickleball is allowed. SMPC is working with the city council to secure permanent, dedicated pickleball courts. Memorial Park is slated to close for renovations in 2025, which puts a clock on our quest.

SMPC purchased and installed the semi-permanent nets on courts 3 and 4 with permission from the city. And thanks to the work of our community advocates, the pickleball court lines on all four tennis courts at Memorial were repainted in 2023.

The SMPC community was recently put to the test when arson destroyed our shed and equipment. The outpouring of support from our members and local businesses was an amazing tribute to the community we have worked so hard to build. It proved that the SMPC community goes far beyond the courts.
