WHAT IS AN AMBASSADOR?
Arguably the SMPC volunteer group with the most enthusiasm is our Ambassadors. You can spot them on our courts during SMPC Open Play donning the always stylish and trendy black SMPC Ambassador tee. Our friendly and supportive Ambassadors are a wealth of information about SMPC, pickleball, and how to have fun at Memorial Park.
By definition, an ambassador is a representative, and the SMPC Ambassadors represent SMPC. During SMPC Open Play, our ambassadors welcome new players and the pickleball curious alike. They often teach beginner-level players the rules of the game. But most importantly, an SMPC Ambassador’s goal is to help make playing pickleball at Memorial Park a fun, positive experience.
Duties include:
Welcome players and introduce them to how SMPC Open Play works
Help players at the Beginner’s Net
Answer questions about the game
Walk around the courts, talk to players, make everyone feel welcome
Promote SMPC, our website, our Round Robins, Clinics, and Events
Diffuse conflicts or disagreements between players
Be the main point person for SMPC during SMPC Open Play
It’s a fun and important job. You choose your volunteer hours, days, and times. If you love people, love pickleball, and are dreaming of sporting an SMPC Ambassador tee, this may be the volunteer position for you.
SMPC Ambassadors have got your back!
