Ho approached me in the winter of 2021 and asked me to help form SMPC. I had only been playing pickleball for six months, but I was willing to commit substantial time to the club, and my skill set as an attorney enabled me to help Ho with his vision. I am proud of the fact that I am a founding member of the club. As the liaison with the city, I was able to get professional-grade nets on courts three and four. I am working tirelessly to get more pickleball courts built in the city. I do this because I have a passion for the sport and I believe in our mission to make recreational and competitive play available to all levels of players here in Santa Monica. I take pride in the fact that I started the round robin program with Grace Benn at a time when neither of us had even played in a round robin. We now offer round robins for beginners, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 3.7+ players.
